Description

Bortle 7 Urban Skies - tracking was good at 0.7as on a 2.4as/pixel scale

This region of the sky is significantly impacted by foreground dark dust which makes the interesting cloud structures in the area of the 'Cave Nebula' look out of focus/washed out, but if you look carefully you will see the background structure. The 'Cave' itself is actually a 'finger' of dust (molecular cloud) - it is an optical illusion that makes it look like an indentation in the cloud structure rather than a protruding feature (an inverted appearance similar the Pelican Nebula background cloud structure).
